Solar System
A journey into the vastness of space
an epic, neo-classical symphony dedicated to our home in the universe
The Sun: brings life and death. The first act is all about the majesty and hugeness, the second act is about the eruptions on the surface and the climax brings both together.

Mercury: a desolate planet, but with two sunrises per day due to its slow rotation and fast cycle around the sun.
The music catches the double sunrise theme and also works with the well-known sun-transit pictures.

Venus: a very rough planet with storms, thunder, acid rain, and temperatures above 400 °C. Expect something hostile and much dissonance.
Earth: It´s all about the majesty and beauty of the one known planet supporting life. This one comes with majestic fanfare chords, soaring melodies, and a unique time signature: 9/4
Mars: “The Martian” showed how Mars is perceived today. Not as a “Bringer Of War” but as a bringer of hope. So, this is what the track is about.
Jupiter: the mightiest of the planets with huge storms raging above the surface. An atmospheric intro leads to majestic cheering-chords, then a build-up to an epic climax, and huge mega-chords as a resolution.
Saturn: the most intriguing one with its beautiful rings. An atmospheric intro leads to dramatic braams and then builds up into an epic climax with brass and choir at their maximum.
Uranus: a large ice planet that rotates on its side. Putting the root note unexpectedly gives the sensation of the chords lying on their side as well.
Neptune: another huge ice planet at the outer ridge of the solar system. Icy and eerie strings lead to majestic brass and lyric choir into an uplifting and powerful epic climax with big percussion before we pass our solar system into the void.
The Sun: brings life and death. The first act is all about the majesty and hugeness, the second act is about the eruptions on the surface and the climax brings both together.

Mercury: desolate and utterly unfriendly to life. But: with two sunrises per day due to its slow rotation and fast cycle around the sun.
A rather textural track with the two sunrises as a theme.
